Welcome to
our website
celebrating the Presidente Peron built in 1949 for Dodero Line by
Vickers Armstrong, Barrow in Furness. She
sailed on her maiden voyage from London to Buenos Aires in 1949 before
launching the new Argentinian service from South America to Europe. She
was named after the dictator President Juan Peron but was renamed as
Argentina after the dictator's fall in 1955. She stopped carrying
passengers in 1966 and was converted into a cargo ship. In 1969 she was
laid up in Rosario. Then in 1973 she was scrapped in Campana.
