Welcome to our website celebrating the venerable Sangola built in 1947 for British India Line. The Sangola was one of the postwar "S" class ships. The Sangola, like her sisters, served on British India Line’s "Apcar Service" from India to the Far East. This service was originally started by Apcar Line in the late 19th century and acquired by British India Line in 1912. This service was closed in 1962 and the Sangola was sold for scrap in March 1963 and was scrapped in Japan.
