Although at the moment we are only concentrating on promoting the ocean liners highlighted on the "Save the Classic Liners" Campaign main page, we also are looking to the future and have a list of other ocean liners on which we are keeping an eye on so that we can consider helping them perhaps in the future. You might say that this is a "Watching Brief List" or "Reserve List".

So if you hear of any developments or news regarding these ships or know of any opportunities then please do let us know.

These ships include the following:

M/S Kungsholm (1966)

Currently in service on charter from her owners Topaz International to The Scholarship as M/S Oceanic II. There is interest from Sweden to preserve her as a static hotel ship and tourist attraction in Gothenburg, Sweden.

M/S Hamburg (1969)

Currently in service on charter from her owners Sovcomflot to Phoenix Reisen as M/S Maxim Gorky but due to be retired on the 30th Nov 2008 due to the implicatons of the increasing oil prices making her expensive to operate. So her future after this date is uncertain.

S/S Ausonia (1956)

Currently in service with Golden Star Cruises as S/S Aegean II. However due to the new SOLAS 2010 regulations her future after 2010 is uncertain.

M/S San Giorgio (1956)

Currently in service with the African Safari Club's Indian Ocean Cruises as M/S Royal Star. However due to the new SOLAS 2010 regulations her future after 2010 is uncertain.

M/S Jean Mermoz (1957)

Currently in service with Louis Cruise Lines as M/S Serenade. However due to the new SOLAS 2010 regulations her future after 2010 is uncertain.

M/S Anna Nery (1962)

Currently in service with Salamis Cruises as M/S Salamis Glory. However due to the new SOLAS 2010 regulations her future after 2010 is uncertain.

M/S Princessa Isabel (1962)

Currently in service on charter from her owners V-Ships as a casino ship M/S Lucky Star in the Far East. However due to new SOLAS 2010 regulations her future after 2010 is uncertain.

S/S Funchal (1961)

Currently in service with Classic International Cruises. However due to the new SOLAS 2010 regulations her future after 2010 is uncertain.

RMS St Helena (1990)

Currently in service with St Helena Line, but due to an airport opening on St Helena in 2010 her future after this date is uncertain.

M/S Alexandr Pushkin (1965)

Currently in service with NCL's Orient Lines subsidiary as M/S Marco Polo. However she has been sold by NCL / Star Cruises / Orient Lines to TransOcean Tours in 2008 and will be handed over on the 23rd March 2008 in Lisbon.  As a result the Orient Lines brand will be discontinued. However due to the new SOLAS 2010 regulations her future after 2010 is uncertain.

M/S Sagafjord (1965)

Currently in service with Saga Cruises as M/S Saga Rose.

M/S Vistafjord (1973)

Currently in service with Saga Cruises as M/S Saga Ruby.
